Massage your body to wellness and
relax with OHF’s experienced Certified Massage Therapists.
We specialize in Sports Massage (Trigger Point Therapy),
Deep Muscle Tissue, Thai bodywork, Acupressure and Tuina.
Acupressure
Based on the same points and meridians
as acupuncture, uses the fingers or hands to press or heat
certain points on the body in order to relieve ailments.
The pressure is designed to release energy blocks in the
meridians of the body in order to treat ailments such as
tension and stress, aches and pains, or arthritis. The
system is also used for general preventive health care.
Deep Muscle / Connective Tissue Massage
A slow, deep tissue, oil free massage
aimed at releasing adhesions in the fascia. When the slow
glide becomes stuck, the therapist holds and waits until
that spot releases.
Thai Bodywork Massage
The traditional Thai medical massage
is based upon an integration of Indian Buddhist medicine
and traditional Chinese Medicine while incorporating a
spiritual dimension in its hand techniques and gentle
approach to tension.
Trigger Point Therapy (a.k.a. Sports Massage or
Neuromuscular Therapy)
Applies concentrated finger pressure
to "trigger point" - painful irritated areas in muscles -
in order to break the cycle of spasm and pain. It is often
used to deal with pain.
Tuina
Tuina
utilizes soft tissue manipulation, acupoints, external
herbal medicines, therapeutic exercise, and structural
realignment methods to treat a wide variety of
musculoskeletal and internal organ disorders. It treats
chronic pain, especially that caused by muscle-skeletal
conditions and injuries. Neck, shoulder and back pain as
well as sciatica and tennis elbow all respond very well.
Problems such as headaches, migraines, IBS, constipation,
PMS and a wide range of emotional problems are also
treated with Tuina. Conditions that in the West would be
treated with drugs or by osteopaths, chiropractors and
physiotherapists are treated in the East with Tuina. |
